S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications
As a graduate student at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Patrick experienced a condensed yet intensive program that encompassed the breadth and depth of knowledge typically acquired by undergraduate students over four years. Despite the compressed timeframe of one year, Patrick's graduate experience at Newhouse was designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive education in media and communications.
Throughout his year at Newhouse, Patrick delved into a rigorous curriculum that covered a wide range of subjects, mirroring the foundational courses offered to undergraduates. From journalism ethics to advanced storytelling techniques, Patrick gained a solid understanding of the theoretical principles and practical skills essential for success in the field of media.
Moreover, Patrick had the opportunity to participate in specialized tracks and concentrations, such as the Sports Media and Communications Track (SMC), which allowed him to tailor his education to his specific interests and career goals. This focused approach enabled Patrick to delve deeply into topics relevant to sports journalism and communications, acquiring specialized knowledge that would serve him well in his future endeavors.
Despite the accelerated nature of his graduate program, Patrick's year at Newhouse was packed with hands-on experiences, collaborative projects, and networking opportunities that enriched his learning journey. By immersing himself in the vibrant academic and professional community at Newhouse, Patrick was able to make the most of his graduate education and emerge with a robust skill set and a strong foundation for his career in media and communications.
